John Daszak, tenor, was raised in Greater Manchester. His Ukrainian father came to Britain following the Second World War. Daszak studied at Chetham's School of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
His recent roles outside the UK include Yannakos in The Greek Passion (Bregenz), Mâtho in Salammbô (Paris), the title role in Peter Grimes (Milan) and Clemente in Venus and Adonis (Santa Fe). He has also performed various roles at the English National Opera, London, including Max in Der Freischütz, Achilles in King Priam, Ismaele in Nabucco, Cashier in From Morning to Midnight and Pierre in War and Peace.
