Lesia Melnyk, actress, was born in Bradford of Ukrainian parents. Her formative experiences included researching travel guides in various countries and working in Rome at the Ukrainian Catholic University library. Her first study was the violin and she obtained a B.A. Honours degree in music. She then went on to study drama at Mountview Theatre School in London.
She has performed in many theatre productions in London’s West End and around the UK and appeared in film and on television, in drama, documentaries and popular series. Her performance opposite Albert Finney in Endless Games was particularly well noticed and her work in Let’s Pretend continued through thirteen series over five years. In 2001 she gained a law degree from Westminster University.
