Alla Sirenko

Born in Ukraine, Alla Sirenko graduated from the Ukrainian State Conservatory in Kyiv as a pianist, from the Estonian State Conservatory in Tallinn as an organist, and from the Ukrainian State Conservatory in Lviv as a composer. She also studied piano under Professor Yakov Milstein at the Moscow Conservatory, and organ under Peter Le Huray and Ann Page in Cambridge and with Martin Haslebock in Lübeck. She now lives in the UK.

Alla Sirenko's compositions include Verona, an opera based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet; The Golden Penguin, a fantasy opera for children; Cantata for the Millennium for mixed choir and orchestra; and The Little Prince, a ballet based on the story by Antoine de St. Exupéry. She has also written numerous works for various combinations of instruments and for accompanied voice.
