Andriy Viytovych

Andriy Viytovych was born in Kremenetz, Ukraine, in 1971. He studied at a specialist music school in Lviv and later at the Lviv Conservatory. In 1991 he won a scholarship to study at the International Menuhin Academy in Switzerland.

In 1996 Andriy joined the London Symphony Orchestra as co-principal viola and in 2000 became a principal viola with the orchestra of the Royal Opera House. He has also played principal viola with other orchestras including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the English Sinfonia, the London Sinfonietta and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Among the chamber groups with which he has played are Camerata Lysy, the London Symphony Chamber Players, the Razumovsky Ensemble, the Covent Garden Soloists and European Camerata.

Andriy Viytovych is a professor of viola at the Royal College of Music, London.
