| About Ukrainian |
Most web pages on the Internet contain information that tells your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer) what language the page is written in, to allow the browser to automatically select the correct character encoding scheme to display the page correctly.
If you are viewing a Ukrainian-language page and the browser has not deternined the correct encoding scheme, in most cases you should be able to display the page correctly by manually selecting the correct encoding scheme. If you use Internet Explorer, right-click on the page, click on Encoding and select the “Cyrillic (Windows)” encoding scheme. If this does not display the page correctly, try one of the other available Cyrillic or Unicode encoding schemes.
As well as reading
Ukrainian web pages, if you have configured your computer for writing in
Ukrainian you should be able to enter Ukrainian text where appropriate. For
example, you can use search engines such as Yahoo!, MSN and Google to find pages
containing Ukrainian keywords. (In the case of Google you can use
either the standard English-language interface or a Ukrainian interface at
www.google.com/intl/uk.)
